Y Street is the Virginia Foundation For Healthy Youth’s award-winning volunteer initiative for high school students. Since 2004, more than 10,000 youth members have developed skills to engage their communities and drive positive change. Through our obesity, tobacco, and e-cigarette use prevention efforts, we’re working to make Virginia healthier for us all.

The Y Street Leadership Team are motivated youth who emerge as leaders among their Y Street peers. They participate in high-level community engagement opportunities with local decision makers that lead to positive change in their schools and communities.
Each year we partner with high school clubs across the state to promote healthier lifestyles. Any student at a participating school is welcome to join and can earn volunteer hours, leadership experience, rewards, and up to $2,000 for your high school club.
The Share The Air campaign is committed to creating 100% tobacco-free and vape-free outdoor public spaces so that Virginians have access to clean and healthy spaces to be active, relax, and enjoy the outdoors.
Rev Your Bev is a statewide campaign to improve the health of all Virginians by encouraging them to drink more water.
